The old post office, near Old Market Square, has been turned into the Dominica Museum, which tells the island luto english s story through photographs, exhibits of Arawak pottery and tools, and a replica of a Carib hut. There s a good view of the town from the second-floor balcony, and while the museum is small, it contains a nicely arranged collection. Visit weekdays between 9am and 4pm, and Saturday luto english from 9am to noon. Admission is EC$5/US$2; 767-448-8923.
You ll be assigned a state-of-the-art Cannondale suspension bike and shown to the training course, where you can learn the basics of mountain biking or practice your skills. When you feel ready, you move on to the intermediate-level single-track trails that promise a roller coaster ride through dense foliage.
